Linnea Lemma
I obtained my PhD from Brandeis University in Physics studying active liquid crystal biomaterials. During this time, I investigated the hierarchical nature of energy cascades in these life-like materials. I joined the Jonikas lab in 2021 to study the membrane-less algal organelle, the pyrenoid. The pyrenoid is responsible for 30% of the world's carbon fixation! I also work with the Brangwynne lab and Wingreen group to investigate the biophysics of this powerful organelle. I write for LabOnTheCheap, a blog devoted to financial accessibility in science. I enjoy running and hiking.
