Sophia Gavrilenko
I am an undergraduate majoring in molecular biology at Princeton University. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, which afforded me many opportunities to become enchanted by the local wildlife and the scenic landscapes. As such, I am highly interested in the life sciences and the environment. I am excited to be a part of the Jonikas lab, studying a process necessary for the existence of life as we know it: photosynthesis. In aiding the current high-throughput fluorescence tagging and localization efforts, my work in the lab serves to identify and characterize genes important for proper photosynthetic function.
My hobbies include drawing, painting, graphic design, creative writing, birdwatching, and playing video games. On campus I am involved in the Student Design Agency and the Princeton Birding Society.
